"We used Adesso for creation of a database application that was used to fulfill a US Army Corps of Engineers - Louisville District task order that entailed identification of the three dominant grass species present at over 8,000 acres of land. The application was built in a matter of a few days at a fraction of the cost of an equivalent system built in ArcPad. The application essentially re-created the Nature Conservancy's National Vegetation Classification System, complete with GPS capture, grass species list, and other criteria. The software was easy to use, and we had 4 teams of 2 people each collecting data on handheld devices in remote places all day long for two weeks. This was done in the spring and subsequently in the fall. Synchronization and export to ArcGIS was done daily, so our team always had an updated map as the field teams did their work. Upon completion of the project, we had over 7,000 plot records. I highly recommend this software for projects requiring lots of data collection in places where internet connectivity is an issue."
