Chief of Naval Operations honors Terraine, Inc. with Environmental Award

The Cecil Field BRAC Cleanup Team (BCT) coordinated with the Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) and teamed with experts to devise and use innovative solutions and technologies to achieve its mission of property transfer while adhering to its vision of partnering. Forty percent of the work was subcontracted to local, small and disadvantaged businesses. Significant accomplishments which have resulted in over $10 million in savings include completing investigations of 644 sites allowing transfer of 97% of the base acreage, successfully signing 23 RODs, eight No Further Action (NFA) decisions, and overseeing long-term monitoring at 14 IR sites and 10 petroleum sites, first partial delisting from the National Priorities List (NPL) in EPA Region 4, saving money by implementing bioaugmentation to enhance bioremediation at a trichloroethylene (TCE) plume, saving over $1 million by modifying an ongoing remedial action, transferring the golf course and precluding it from becoming a CERCLA site, saving $2.5 million in remediation costs by applying statistics to attain Florida Soil Cleanup Target Levels (SCTLs), saving $2.4 million in remediation costs at the North Fuel Farm, and expeditious removal of Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) minimizing impacts to construction activities.

Terraine is awarded additional Task Order at Vance AFB
Terraine, in conjunction with its joint venture (JV) partner, was awarded a Delivery Order to perform a Site Investigation at a proposed US Army Reserve Center (USARC) Site at Vance AFB in Enid, OK in support of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) program. This is the second Delivery Order the JV has received for environmental services at Vance AFB in the past three months and one of an ongoing series of delivery orders to support the BRAC program. Terraine is performing work at Vance AFB to evaluate lead contamination from former trap and skeet ranges in the proposed USARC Site.

Jack Strader, PG joins Terraine
Terraine welcomes Jack Strader, PG in the Knoxville office. Mr. Strader is a US Marine Corp veteran with a Bachelors Degree from the University of Tennessee. He has more than fourteen years of environmental experience and is a Professional Geologist in Tennessee and Georgia. He previously worked for Terraine from 1994 to 2001 and has rejoined the company, where he will support government and private sector projects.
